This is the story of ten-year-old Opal and her big, scrappy dog named Winn-Dixie. A lot of things happen to Opal because of Winn-Dixie. Opal makes a handful of unlikely friends and also comes to terms with some of the losses she has experienced in her own life.I loved this book! It is sweet, charming, and touching. I read it in a couple of hours and it has been the best thing about my day so far.
